Alerts
Alerts help you stay informed about critical conditions within your collection climate. Whether it is a sudden spike in relative humidity or a temperature deviation, the alerts system ensures the right people are notified at the right time.
The Alerts section is divided into two main areas: Alerts and Rules. Click on one of the tabs in the header menu to access them.
Alerts
Alerts can reach you through three channels:
- In-software alerts — visible directly within the application
- Email alerts — sent to your registered email address
- SMS alerts — sent to your mobile phone (requires a phone number in your profile)
When on the Alerts page, click the Settings button at the top right in the header menu to configure both project-level and personal notification settings.
Alert cascades
Alert cascades ensure that critical alerts are never missed by sequentially notifying team members.
- When an alert is triggered, the first person in the cascade is notified.
- If that person does not acknowledge the alert within a configurable time interval, the next team member is notified.
- This continues until someone acknowledges the alert.
- Once acknowledged, the cascade stops and the alert is suppressed for 24 hours to avoid repeated notifications for the same condition.
Pause notifications
During maintenance or other planned activities, you can temporarily pause notifications to avoid unnecessary alerts.
- Use the toggle to pause notifications.
- Optionally set an end date so notifications automatically resume.
Remember to resume notifications after maintenance is complete, or set an end date so they resume automatically.
Personal notification settings
Every project member can configure how they prefer to receive alerts, by ticking the checkbox next to Mail and/or SMS.
Aside from receiving direct alerts, a user can also choose to receive alert digests: a periodic summary of past alerts. For instance, if you select Every week, the system will deliver a list of all alerts that have been triggered in the past week in one overview mail.
To receive SMS notifications, make sure your phone number is added to your user profile.
Rules
Rules define the conditions under which alerts are triggered. You use rules to specify what should be monitored and when an alert should fire.
Currently, rules operate on an interval-based model:
- Run every — how often the rule is evaluated (e.g. every hour)
- When in the last — the time window considered for evaluation (e.g. in the last 24 hours)
Rules are evaluated at regular intervals rather than in real time. This means there may be a short delay between a condition occurring and the alert being triggered.
Creating rules
You can create rules in two ways:
- Custom rules — define all parameters manually from scratch.
- Templates — start from predefined alert rule templates based on established guidelines such as ASHRAE 2019 guidelines or Bizot Green. Templates auto-fill the rule parameters but remain fully customizable after creation.
Adding a rule
To add a new alert rule:
- Click Add Rule to open the rule creation drawer.
- Choose whether to start from a template or configure the rule manually.
- Give the rule a descriptive name.
- Select the locations and measurement types to monitor.
- Configure the evaluation interval and condition parameters.
- Click Confirm to save the rule.
Templates are a great starting point, especially when following industry standards. You can always adjust the auto-filled parameters to match your specific requirements.
