Locations
A location is a uniquely identifiable physical or logical space used for associating devices. Locations help you organise your monitoring setup by grouping devices according to where they are placed, such as a specific display case, gallery, or storage area.
Locations
In the main menu on the left, click Locations to go to the Locations page.
On the Locations page, you'll find a table that for each location lists the following information:
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Name | The name assigned to the device |
| Device | The device currently placed at this location |
| Values | The last readings for temperature, relative humidity, and light |
| Last values | How long ago the last datapoints were received for this location |
Each row in the table represents a location. Click on one of the rows to visit the respective location's detail page.
Change a location name
You can change the location name directly in the locations table. Click on the name field in the respective row. The name change to an input field, that allows you to edit the name directly. Make sure to confirm the edit.
Alternatively, you can change the location name in the location's detail page, under Properties.
Location detail
The location detail page visualises the measurements that have been collected at that location, lists the location's details, attached files, linked views, and the device history.
Device history
Measurements are generated by physical monitors, or Devices, and the location detail page shows the measurements that have been generated by these devices. Under Device history you can track which devices, over time, have been paired with the current location.
By clicking on the start date, you can edit it to reflect the actual moment when the device was paired with the location.
Floor plans
Floor plans provide a visual overview of your building layout with active device locations. They make it easy to see at a glance where your monitoring devices are positioned within a space. Typically, floor plans are used, but also images of the spaces where the monitoring system is deployed can be used.
Click on the Floor plan tab in the page header to navigate to the floor plans page.
Add a floor plan
You can upload images of floor plan, exhibition spaces or storage areas by clicking on the designated area and selecting the file, or simply dragging and dropping the image file here.
Only bitmap image formats, such as JPEG and PNG, are supported. If your floor plan is in PDF format, convert it to JPEG or PNG before uploading.
