Battery Replacement: CHARP Mini
The CHARP Mini is powered by a CR2450 coin cell battery. When the battery runs low, you can replace it yourself by following the steps below.
A video guide for this procedure is also available. Contact CHARP support if you would like to receive it.
What you need
- A thin flat tool (e.g., a flathead screwdriver, guitar pick, or plastic pry tool)
- A new CR2450 battery
Replacement steps
Step 1: Open the device casing
Insert a thin flat tool into the side seam of the CHARP Mini casing. Gently pry the front cover away from the backplate. Work your way around the seam if needed until the casing separates.
Be careful not to apply excessive force, as this may damage the casing clips.
Step 2: Remove the old battery
Locate the CR2450 battery inside the device. Use your tool to gently lever the old battery out of its holder.
Step 3: Insert the new battery
Place the new CR2450 battery into the battery holder with the positive (+) side facing up.
Ensure the battery is oriented correctly. The + symbol should be visible on the top face of the battery after insertion.
Step 4: Close the casing
Align the front cover with the backplate and press firmly until you hear or feel it snap shut. Verify that all edges are seated evenly.
After replacement
After replacing the battery, the CHARP Mini should resume normal operation automatically. If the device does not begin communicating, refer to the re-establishment procedure in the CHARP Mini Installation Guide.
